About the KSU Status Page


The KSU Status Page provides up-to-date service information about the status of and upcoming maintenance for Kennesaw State University IT systems and services.

If you are encountering a problem that is not listed on this page, please report your issue to the KSU Service Desk at service@kennesaw.edu.

In progress - Scheduled maintenance is currently in progress. We will provide updates as necessary.

Scheduled - OneUSGConnect will be unavailable for system maintenance beginning 6 p.m. Friday, Mar. 27 and extending through 7 a.m. Tuesday, Mar. 31.

During this time, Employee Self Service and Manager Self Service will not be available.

Where applicable, time clocks will remain available for use.
OneUSG Connect - Benefits will remain available to employees and can be accessed from the USG Faculty and Staff Portal.
Note that W-2’s will be unavailable for viewing and printing during this time so please plan accordingly.

Investigating - Some users are currently reporting service issues with D2L email Notifications being delayed.

Users of XPROD Brightspace/D2L Online Learning Environment may experience intermittent availability of Brightspace emails and/or delay in receiving Brightspace email messages

The D2L technical team is currently investigating these issues. We will provide further updates as they are available.

Identified - Microsoft cloud services is making temporary adjustments to select capabilities within Microsoft 365.

Last week, Microsoft shared details about adjustments in Microsoft Teams, such as how often they check for presence, the interval in which they show when the other party is typing, and reduced video resolution.

We are sharing a few other temporary changes you can expect.

OneNote:

OneNote in Teams will be read-only for commercial tenants, excluding EDU. Users can go to OneNote for the web for editing.
Download size and sync frequency of file attachments has been changed.

SharePoint:

We are rescheduling specific backend operations to regional evening and weekend business hours. Impacted capabilities include migration, DLP and delays in file management after uploading a new file, video or image.
Reduced video resolution for playback videos.
Stream:

People timeline has been disabled for newly uploaded videos. Pre-existing videos will not be impacted.
Meeting recording video resolution adjusted to 720p

Update - Kaltura's engineering team was alerted to connectivity issues for KMS (Kaltura MediaSpace) and KAF (Kaltura Application Framework). We are investigating and working to resolve as a top priority.

Investigating - Some users are currently reporting service issues with Kaltura Media Space.

Kaltura's engineering team has restored access to Kaltura MediaSpace, however, we are continuing to investigate and may see slightly slower page load at times. Kaltura's team will continue to provide updates and are working to restore normal performance.

Update - From Kaltura: Update - Infrastructure improvements to increase capacity for Transcoding and Upload jobs have been completed by our Operations team. These additional servers are processing the queue, both new jobs and pending jobs. In the next 24 hours, we will update on the progress of restoring queues to normal performance. We will continue to monitor until this is completed, and going forward to ensure that performance has been optimized.

Identified - From Blackboard: Collaborate Ultra recordings are taking longer than normal to process and appear in the Ultra Scheduler once the session has ended. We are aware of the delay and working to resolve the issue. If your recording does not appear right away, please try checking again later on.

Monday, March 23, 2020 9:00 AM EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) GMT-4 hours -- Collaborate customers using the telephone option may get a message stating the call cannot be completed as dialed or a busy signal. Our operations team is actively investigating the issue. Please use a browser on your computer or mobile phone to use VoIP for audio in the Collaborate session.


Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is currently investigating these issues. We will provide further updates as they are available.
