Scheduled - We will be undergoing scheduled maintenance of parking on the Marietta Campus from Monday, June 1 through Friday, July 24. Reconfiguration of lots P28a, P35, P38, & P21 will occur. Scheduled Maintenance

Planned Power Outage for 920 Norton Hall Jun 6, 2026 05:00-17:00 EDT

Impact Details:
Description & Location: Electrical feeds from generators will be re‑worked, requiring a full building power outage for Norton Hall. Emergency‑powered devices will remain operational.
Schedule:
Full Building Outage for 920 Norton Hall: Saturday, June 6 from 5:00 AM-5:00 PM
There may be additional power interruptions on Sunday, June 7 during transfer back to normal/on‑generator power
Reason: Plant Operations will be reworking power feeds and generators to fully support police operations at Norton Hall. This work ensures continuity of operations during emergencies.
Logistics:
Non‑emergency devices (HVAC, office receptacles and lighting, vending, copiers, and break‑room appliances) will be without power for the full outage but will not be affected by the brief power interruptions
Essential emergency‑powered systems (life‑safety lighting, Police Dispatch, networking equipment, and door access) will remain operational during the outage but may experience brief blips during the transfer activities on those dates.

Planned Water Outage for 385 Sturgis Library Jun 8, 2026 05:00 - Jun 12, 2026 15:00 EDT

Impact Details:
Description & Location: Water service to the entire building will be shut off to support the connection of new waterlines across the ground floor. All restrooms, drinking fountains, and other water-dependent fixtures will be unavailable during this period.
Schedule: Starting on Monday, June 8 at 5:00 AM through 5:00 PM on Friday, June 12.
Reason: This shutdown is necessary to complete the installation and connection of new waterlines as part of ongoing maintenance work.
Logistics:
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) will provide guidance regarding building occupancy during the maintenance period.
This building does not have a fire sprinkler system; therefore, the water shutdown will not impact the building’s fire protection system or fire safety coverage.

Microsoft Office 365 Issue Identified - Monday 01/01/26
Resolved - University Information Technology Services (UITS) has confirmed that Microsoft Office 365 is functioning normally at this time.

Investigating - Microsoft has reported an issue with Office 365 that is affecting access to Microsoft online services, including online file access. Accessing web applications and files via office.com can be a helpful workaround at this time.

HVAC Outage - 402 Social Sciences Building
Resolved - The utility outage affecting Social Sciences has been resolved this afternoon. All services, including HVAC, have been restored.

Update - The Plant Operations team has developed an initial strategy to resolve the ongoing HVAC outage in the Social Sciences Building.
Resolution Strategy:
Plant Operations is working diligently to restore the HVAC system as quickly as possible. The cooling tower has been brought back online, and the team is currently addressing air pockets within the water lines that developed during the full system shutdown.
Timeline:
The goal is to have the system operating under normal conditions by approximately 2:00 PM today.
Ongoing Impact:
As the system stabilizes, some areas may experience intermittent airflow or temperature fluctuations during the restart process.
Communication Moving Forward:

Identified - Our team is continuing to address the HVAC outage at 402 Social Sciences Building. Plant Operations is performing emergency repairs to the cooling tower due to a severe leak impacting HVAC system operation. To safely complete the repairs, the building’s HVAC system must be shut down.
At this time, the duration and completion schedule for the work remain unknown. Plant Operations is actively evaluating the repair scope and sequencing requirements to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.

Impact: HVAC System for the entire building is currently out of service.

Scheduled - Impact Details:
Description & Location: Floor repair work is scheduled that will require the freight elevator to be out of service for the entire workday on Friday, May 22. This outage affects all floors, limited specifically to the ground floor and loading dock area.
Schedule: The project will begin early in the morning on Friday, May 22, and the ground‑floor area will need to remain free of all traffic throughout the entire holiday weekend. The repaired flooring will be fully cured by the time campus reopens on Tuesday, May 26, and the freight elevator will be back in service at that time as well.
Reason: The freight elevator must be taken offline to safely complete the required floor repair work.
Logistics: All work activities will be contained to the designated project area, and general building access will remain available.

Scheduled - Impact Details:
Description & Location:  Next week, scheduled work on the building’s electrical systems and chiller equipment will result in temporary disruptions affecting life‑safety systems, door access, elevator service, and building air conditioning. These impacts will affect the entire Architecture Building.
Schedule:
-Thursday, May 21 – The emergency panel shutdown will begin at 5:00 AM and conclude at approximately 1:00 PM.
-Friday, May 22 – The main panel shutdown for pumps and chiller equipment will begin at 5:00 AM and conclude at approximately 1:00 PM.
Reason:  This work is required to complete electrical system repairs and upgrades to the emergency panel and chiller pump controls.
Logistics:
-May 21: Door access will be offline. Emergency lighting and the elevator will be out of service. Fire alarms and the data center will be placed on backup power while work is underway.
-May 22:
The main panel supporting chiller pumps and the air conditioning system will be shut down.

The 2 handicap spaces closest to the Textile Building will be impeded from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Wednesday, May 20. Six parking spaces near the Science Building will be impeded from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 21.
