Impact Details:
Description & Location: A sewer line repair project will require temporary parking and traffic impacts along Marietta Drive on the south side of the Austin Residence Complex. In addition, an enabling tree removal will occur at the entrance to the Austin Residence Complex parking lot. Parking spaces and portions of the lot will be closed to support this work.
Schedule: Starting on the morning of Saturday, August 1 at 8:00 AM through Friday, August 7 by close of business. The tree removal will take place on Saturday, August 1.
Reason: The work is necessary to remove a failing tree and repair a separated sewer line that has contributed to sewer backups affecting the Austin Residence Complex. Following utility repairs, the parking lot will remain closed temporarily for restriping before reopening.
Logistics: Traffic control personnel will be onsite during the tree removal to safely direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Parking and Housing have coordinated this work; Housing will notify residents, and Parking will close affected spaces and portions of the lot.
