Impact Details
Description: The condenser water pump serving the Library requires replacement of its packing and seals.
Schedule: Work is scheduled to begin on Thursday, August 6 at 5:00 PM, with restoration anticipated by 1:00 AM on Friday, August 7.
Reason: The repair is necessary to prevent further deterioration of the pump and to keep the building’s cooling system operating reliably. Because there is no backup system and the leak could worsen, completing this work promptly will help avoid additional complications.
Logistics: The HVAC system on all floors will be offline during the outage, with the exception of the Rare Book Room on the bottom level. Please be aware that cooling and airflow will be unavailable throughout the rest of the building while this work is underway, which may cause indoor temperatures to rise.
